| 'Lectionary' or Appointed Scripture Passages |
It is the custom of ELCA Lutheran churches to follow the Common Lectionary.
The Lectionary is a collection of scripture readings that follow a three year cycle. Each week and festival day are assigned readings from the Old Testament, the Psalms, the New Testament and also a reading from one of the four Gospels. The ELCA uses the New Revised Standard Version (NRSV) of the Holy Bible. Each pew in the sanctuary contains several copies for your use during worship.
If you would like to read the lessons appointed for a particular day, click on the Bible graphic here and you'll go to a website that will provide you with the scriptures for the day. Feel free to contact Nancy if you need help determining the current week in the church year.
FYI: 2008 is Year "C". |
