My words are sweeter than honey to your mouth. Don't lost heart in doing good. Look for opportunities to invest in others. Encourage people daily and build them up. You'll see rewards if you don't give up.

from Psalm 119:103, Galatians 6:9-10, Hebrews 3:13, 1 Thessalonians 5:11 and Proverbs 28:10

Neil Diamond's Chocoholic Yankee fan
What makes my heart happy? Well, nothing quite compares to the JOY I experience being a Child of God and spending time in His presence through prayer and worship but there are some worldly things that get me pretty pumped. I adore my husband and our children and am happiest when they are around. I never seem to get too much of them. Our Jack Russells Gypsy and Blizzard delight me and are so very dear. However, if you want to see my face light up, just get me to talking about Neil Diamond, the New York Yankees, or anything chocolate.
Please remember to pray for my husband.

This winter was one of the most miserable I've experienced and I didn't get out much. The good news is I was able to work on a lot of knitting and sewing projects. I discovered a new pattern for baby booties that look like high-top basketball shoes and have been busy making several pairs in team colors for friends and family. I'm hoping to contribute several pair for the annual craft sale the Women of the ELCA hold in the fall. If you'd like a pair before November, let me know and I'll try to accommodate you. Any funds will be donated to the sale.

ONLY ONE SOCK?
I belong to a website that is a bit like MySpace and Face Book except that it is restricted to women who are mothers. It is called CafeMom.com and is comprised of many diversified groups. I belong to "Raising Boys" and "Knit & Crochet". The following was posted on April 14 by one of my friends there and it is so beautifully written, I just had to share it with you.

In the past I've watched Oprah on tv and have subscribed to her magazine though I no longer do so. On those occasions when she promoted books or had speakers who spoke about what we might call 'new age' religion, I was concerned. She has a very wide following and could easily mislead those who trust her. Now she is endorsing Senator Obama and he apparently has welcomed her endorsement.
I stumbled across this video commentary and found it very interesting. Please take a few minutes to watch it and share your impression with me. I'm curious what you think about it.
